Lawrence Vernon McNeil Sr., favorably known as Larry passed away from natural causes at the age of 80 on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Larry was born in Gary Indiana, moving to the Denver area when he was 5 years of age. He loved Colorado and the Front Range and made it his home. He was a husband, a father, grandfather, and great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, colleague and friend.
A real estate pioneer and trailblazer for the African American community, Larry will be remembered and missed by many in the Denver area and beyond. Helping families achieve the American dream through home ownership was Larry’s expertise and a lifelong purpose. His true passion, however, was in celebrating the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Being the passionate man Larry was, he had an undeniable candid and open way of drawing people in. His true desire in life was to be connected, engaging and provide advice along the way. By nature, he was altruistic. A true salesman and negotiator at heart, unintentionally, Larry fostered initiative. His character was nothing short of love, compassion, and integrity.
Larry will also be remembered as an adventurer, always seeking new endeavors while enhancing the lives of everyone around him with his infectious charm, energy, and vigor.
Larry graduated from Manual High School in 1962 after which he pursued multiple career paths but found the profession he was made for…. real estate. Larry obtained his real estate license in 1976 and became a broker for Century 21 and later RE/MAX where he remained for the balance of his real estate career.
