Lawrence James "Jim" Peterson was born in McDonald, Kansas on October 18, 1937, to Fred A. Peterson and Bertha (Brown) Peterson. He departed this life on October 20, 2006 at the age of 69 years and 2 days. Jim graduated from Atwood High School, Atwood, Kansas in 1955, then attended St. Benedicts College in Atchinson, Kansas and Kansas State University in Manhattan. He then worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita and moved to Denver in 1960 where he became a bricklayer. He was a bricklayer for 35 years and retired from Polar Refrigeration in 2002. He is the father of one son, Thomas Fred Peterson from a previous marriage. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Buchanan in March of 1964. To this union two children were born, Roger Scott and Kimberly Sue. Jim is a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed his retirement years watching sports, traveling and enjoying his family. Preceding him in death were his parents. Those remaining to celebrate his life include his wife, Mary, of Highlands Ranch; son Scott (Nancy) and daughter Kim of Denver, son Tom (Lynn) of Brighton; three grandchildren, Peri Kendra, Trevor David, and Tanner Douglas; sister Rita (Al) Hall of Glenview, Illinois; brother Jack of Manhattan, Kansas and brother Gene of Sacramento, California; one niece; five nephews and many other relatives and friends.
