Lawrence Eugene Zito, 77, of Thornton passed away on May 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on April 29, 1944 in Denver, Colorado he was the son of Lawrence C. and Lorena M. (Yannacito) Zito.
Larry started his professional career at a young age as an electrician, building Denver’s skyline where he routinely worked on support beams suspended many feet in the air. He went on to start his own commercial electrical business which he ran for 15 years before joining the pharmaceutical industry; first for Synergen then for Amgen where he led a team building out the electrical systems of major drug production plants, once those projects were completed, Larry continued his supervisory role maintaining those facilities until he retired.
Larry enjoyed retirement He liked facetiming his son, and visiting his son, daughter in law, and grandchildren in their home in Houston. He also enjoyed spending many evenings with his North Denver friends at McCoy’s on Federal.
He will be remembered for his big heart, always lending a helping hand for a quick electrical job at someone’s house or driving friends and family to doctors visits
Larry is survived by his son, Steve Zito, his daughter in law, Natalia, his grandchildren, Henry and James, his sisters, Virginia, Linda and Mary Lu.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lorena Zito
A Funeral Mass to honor Larry will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4200 Federal Blvd. Denver, CO 80211.
