Lee Anne Barbee

February 11, 1946 — September 3, 2020

Littleton

After a valiant fight against cancer, Lee Anne Barbee, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2020. Lee Anne was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.

Lee Anne was born on February 11, 1946 to parents Roy and Annabelle Miller in Sterling, CO. She grew up in Padroni, CO and travelled east to Bladensburg, MD at the age of 23, where she met her husband of 48 years, Jack Barbee. They spent the next 46 years in Maryland, raising their three children in Ellicott City. During this time, she worked as an accountant, with most of her time as a dedicated and cherished employee of Trinity Homes until she retired in 2015. At this time, Lee Anne returned home to Colorado.

Lee Anne enjoyed many interests and hobbies including sewing, crafting, playing bridge, prayer group, Bible study, baking, cooking, and watching her favorite baseball and football teams. Her job allowed her the flexibility to always be present at her children’s school and sporting events. She served as a lunchroom mom for many years at St. Louis school and was a supportive and vocal baseball/softball/field hockey/soccer mom. She would spend countless hours every Christmas baking her special orange bread for every member of the staff of St. Louis school to show thanks. Her bread was legendary. Holidays were always made special by Lee Anne’s attention to detail and skills in the kitchen. This earned her the nickname of “Martha Stewart,” and they even had a similar appearance. Christmas, especially, will not be the same without her.

Lee Anne is survived by her husband, Jack Barbee; three children Chris Barbee (Amanda), Kate Bernstein (David), and Patrick Barbee; two grandchildren Payton and Alex; six siblings Roy Miller, Jr, Patsy McGuire (Mike), Jerry Miller (Nga), Tim Miller, Terry Miller, and Marcia Miller (Ferguson); and thirteen nieces and nephews. Lee Anne was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Annabelle Miller, sister Lucene Miller and brother Jim Miller.

Due to the current circumstances, the immediate family will have a small funeral service. When we are able to safely congregate again, memorials will held in both Colorado and Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
