Leo T. Skrocki

Leo T. Skrocki of Northglenn, passed away on August 3, 2015. He was Born on December 31, 1939 in Denver, CO to Leo P and Helen (Ungehire) Skrocki. He graduated from Annunciation School in 1957 and married Margaret J. McNulty on November 9, 1963 in Denver, CO. Leo touched the lives of many people. He loved playing sports in his younger days and would often reminisce for hours, as he has a gift for talking. He continued his love for sports by coaching. He coached baseball, basketball, and football. Leo was often described as one of the most knowledgeable, influential coaches. Former players would say he was always fair and treated everyone with respect. He was responsible not only for guiding a lot of young men on the field or court, but also by helping them become better men in life. His son's, Mike and Dave, are great examples of men he helped mold. In retirement he beamed with pride watching his grandsons play ball and his heart was filled with joy as he witnessed the beautiful, compassionate, young women his granddaughter became. It was almost a guarantee that he would be found watching high school sports on any day of the week. He often followed the coaching careers of former players along with their children's sporting careers. There wasn't many places you could go without someone knowing him or he knowing someone else. Leo will be missed by his family , lifelong friends, and longtime neighbors. Leo is survived by son's Michael T. Skrocki and his wife Linda of Visalia, CA, David A. Skrocki and his wife Becky of Commerce City, CO; sisters MaryAnn Cramer of Denver, CO, Jeanne Hall of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren Abigail, Brandon, and Brady. Leo is preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret J. Skrocki, who passed in June of 2010. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Seven O'clock in the Evening at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 9998 Grant Street, Thornton. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Eleven O'clock in the Morning at St. Joseph's Polish Catholic Church, 517 East 46th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80216.
