Leona Dignan

Leona A. Dignan, 89, of Northglenn, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022.

She was born in Denver, Colorado on August 3, 1932 to Jerry and Mary Colacito. She graduated from North High School and married Owen K. Dignan. They had five children together, Brian, James, Teri, Jerry and Daniel. She worked for Associated Grocers as a receptionist.

She was a devout Catholic and an incredible mother and grandmother who loved family gatherings, cooking (especially Italian dishes), and playing Bridge with her girlfriends.

She is survived by her husband, Owen; children, James (Heidi), Teri and Jerry (Debra); grandchildren, Molly (James), Sarah, Justin (Sara), Brittany (Josh), Eric (Stacie) and Emily (Jack); great-grandchildren, Mia, Isabelle, Abagail, James, Landon, Nolan, Ellie and Cayde; her niece, Cindi and great-niece, Samantha, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; sons, Brian and Daniel and her sister, Eileen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 4-6pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 6pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80246.

Funeral Mass is on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 830 Elm Street, Denver, Colorado 80220 with interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
