Leonard was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating from Cretin High School in 1947, Leonard entered the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged from the Air Force in 1953 and immediately enrolled at the University of Minnesota earning a degree in Civil Engineering. Leonard worked for PPG Industries, Martin Marietta and Coors before finding his final job at North Table Mountain Water District as the District Manager. Leonard met Joanne Elaine while working at PPG Industries and they were married in 1958. They moved to Colorado in 1959 and were blessed with a daughter, Linda Marie in 1960 and a son, Gary Albert in 1962. Linda preceded Leonard in death in 1986 when she was struck by a vehicle. Leonard is survived by his wife Joanne; son Gary and his wife Tonja); grandchildren, Jeffrey Steven (19) and David Leonard (7); and brothers-in-law Carol and Donald. In his younger years, Leonard enjoyed golf, bowling, and skiing. Leonard was a talented musician playing both the accordion and organ. Leonard loved living in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Leonard died after a 1-year battle with colon cancer. He will be missed by family and friends. Until we see you again. Memorial Services honoring Leonard's life will be held Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 2:30 P.M. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (1 block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. Committal Services will be held Monday, January 5, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado. Meet at Staging Area ""A"" by 12:45 P.M.
