Leonard Steve Stolba

Leonard S. Stolba, lovingly known by most as ""Jeda"", age 77, passed away September 13, 2011 in Thornton, Co. He had been residing in Elms Haven Care Center. Mr. Stolba was born on September 21, 1933, to Edward Frank and Anna Dvorak Stolba, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On August 15, 1954 he married Carlene June Banes in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They moved to Buena Vista, Colorado in 1980. She preceded him in death just three weeks prior to his passing, on August 21, 2011. Mr. Stolba was a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on vehicles. Mr. Stolba is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Richard; brothers, Adolph, Milo and Emil; sisters, Josephine, Margaret, Leona and Mary Ann. He is survived by sons Ken (Annette) Stolba of Buena Vista; Bryon (Lisa) Stolba of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter Jenise Stolba of Northglenn, Co., Dwayne Bolin of Thornton, Co.; Diana Stolba of Ottumwa, Ia; brothers Louis, Leo and Bobby of Cedar Rapids, Ia; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial service for both Mr. and Mrs. Stolba will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 2:00pm, at the American Legion, 338 North Railroad in Buena Vista. An additional service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011, 1:00pm, at the Iowa Noelridge Christian Church, 7111 C Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service before the burial. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association 1.800.272.8721.
