Leravene Mae Sas was born to Anthony and Genevieve Sas in January 1951. She grew up in Leota, Minnesota, graduated from Southwest Christian High School, attended Calvin College and then earned a Master of Social Work, graduate degree from University of Minnesota. She later went on to earn a nursing degree from Regis University. Throughout her life, she held many jobs from Medical Social Worker in Southern California and Grand Junction, Colorado to Nurse in the Denver, Colorado area.
In her free time, Leravene enjoyed hosting and made sure to spend part of every year with her mother. During the summers, she treasured visiting the family, childhood home back in Minnesota. She was passionately interested in the arts and various social causes. Both of these aided her enthusiasm for travel, both domestic and international.
Leravene was very involved with her family and friends for holidays, events, and special occasions. Second only to family, Leravene treasured the close friendships she gained throughout her life journey. She took every opportunity to connect with others; it was important to her that everyone feel seen and included. She made sure to follow various sports teams and events in order to deepen her connections with people.
Leravene desired to express her thankfulness for being richly blessed by God with wonderful family and friends. She was grateful for their endless help and support throughout her life. She expressed gratitude and praise that God has been forever good and faithful and had given her all she needed on earth. She cherished His mercy and grace in sending His son to save her and all who accept His love.
As a result of progressive medical conditions, Leravene moved to a skilled nursing facility, where she passed away in August 2024.
