LeRoy Richards

LeRoy Eugene Richards, 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2015 surrounded by his family, following a long and valiant struggle with COPD. He is survived by his loving wife Joanne Riser Richards, his sons Brad and Tim, his daughter Traci Summers (Bradley), his granddaughter Jessica and his step-daughters Kristin Riser and Marna Nesler (Greg) and step-daughter Alyssa MacDonald plus many nieces and nephews. Lee was born in Irwin, Iowa on November 4, 1942. He is preceded in death by his sister Peggy Lawrence and his parents Edgar (Bud) and Helen Richards. After graduation from high school in Irwin, he obtained his accreditation in refrigeration, heating and cooling from Universal Trade School in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked in the heating and air conditioning field for a number of years, eventually moving to Aurora and starting his own business, Columbine Mechanical Services which he ran from 1979-1984. Subsequently he owned Synergy Mechanical Services until 2008 when he retired. Lee was a loving father and very proud of his children and step-children. He was a fair and respected employer and a beloved and loyal friend. Lee enjoyed fishing, football, classic car shows and family gathering. Services will be held at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. Aurora, CO 80014 at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015.
