Leroy Rupp, aged 88, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2023 while under hospice care. Leroy was born on August 11, 1935 in Hays Kansas to Boniface (Bonny) and Irene Rupp, the family moved to Denver in 1942. After graduating from St. Joseph High School Leroy worked in construction until joining the Army in November of 1958. He served for three years until being injured in Germany and returned to the United States until his discharge in 1961. He married his wife Beverly Jarosz in 1961 and they went on to have two daughters, Kelly and Cheryl and a son Stephen.
Leroy belonged to the Early Ford V-8 Club and enjoyed restoring early model cars. He won numerous awards for the restoration and enjoyed attending national tours with the club. Leroy also enjoyed camping with family and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Boniface (Bonny) and Irene Rupp, brother-in-law Bill Pruyn, and nephew James Pruyn.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Beverly, their children Kelly Pickett (Bob), Cheryl McKenney (Bruce), Stephen (Lisa Havens). Grandchildren Jonathan McKenney (Kelly), Benjamin McKenney (Carly Brady), Melisa Yang (Jay), Jeremy Ervin. Great Grandchildren Jade Yang and Lilly Yang.
He is also survived by sister Eileen Pruyn, brother Gary Rupp (Mary Jo/Jodi), nephews Joseph Pruyn, Michael Rupp (Heidi), and niece Jennifer Wendley (Mark).
Funeral services will be held on December 1, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary (11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn), visitation at 9:45am, Mass at 10:30am with reception following.
Burial will be on December 5th at Fort Logan Cemetery (4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver) at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St Jude’s Children's Hospital or Project Angel Heart.
