Les Patten, 67, of Denver, passed away July 6, 2011 at home, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Born April 20th, 1944 in Waterloo, IA to Ralph and Lela Patten, he grew up in Hampton, IA and attended Drake University where he received a BS in Accounting. After college, Les went into the Army and served in Vietnam. Les then earned his CPA and worked in the accounting and banking industries. In 1977, he became president of Jefferson Bank and Trust in Lakewood. In 1981, he started his own forensic accounting firm Patten, MacPhee and Associates, providing specialized services to the legal and financial industries. His firm will be among his lasting legacies. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Trish; sons Craig (Julie) and Geoff (Hanny); granddaughters Sydney and Samantha; sisters Pat Crim (Don) and Pauline Patten. Memorial service: 3:00pm July 21, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1820 Broadway, Denver, CO. Following Memorial Service there will be a Celebration of life at the University Club, 1673 Sherman Street, Denver CO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
