Leslie Paul Brown

Leslie Paul Brown, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 28, 2016. He was born on May 9, 1935 in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Viola (McDowell) Brown and Paul Brown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Barnett) Brown and his children Cindy Brown of Taos, New Mexico; Steve (Stephanie) Brown of Kailua, Hawaii; and Brenda (Michael) Staab of Littleton, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren – Joseph Sawyer Jatcko, Weston Price and Amanda Grace Staab, and Benjamin Paul Brown; his sister Esther Eskens and brother Tom Machin. Les grew up in Manhattan, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University. He served his country in the Air Force and was stationed in Michigan and Canada. He lived in St. Louis, Missouri, where he worked for Fred T. Lowy Company. He was transferred to Denver, Colorado and he worked in Denver until retirement in 2001. After retirement, he volunteered at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Les was a gentle, caring, and patient man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and cherished his family and friends. He also loved to fly fish, go birding, and be outdoors in nature. A memorial celebration is planned for Saturday, April 23 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm; with a brief service at 3:30 pm at the HeartLight Center at Horan and McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue (at S. Parker Rd), Aurora, Colorado 80014. Donations can be made in memory of Les Brown to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science at www.dmns.org/.
