Leslie Lynn Hawkes

Leslie ""Lynn"" Hawkes, age 67, died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette Colorado on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017. Lynn had been sick for about two months with an undiagnosed illness and after admitting to the hospital it was determined to be severe Cirrhosis of the liver. She ultimately perished after eight days in the hospital. Lynn was born May 9th, 1949 in San Francisco, California. She graduated high school from Armijo High in Fairfield California in 1967. Then went on to meet the love of her life, Dave, in Fairfield California in 1969 when he knocked on her door. They made their way to Denver Colorado in 1970 and were married on June 5th of that same year. The Hawkes' bought their first home on Grant Street in 1971 where they have lived ever since. Over the years while raising four children Lynn also worked at Lehrer's Flowers for about 15 years and Westminster Flowers for another three. Then she looked forward to camping, travelling, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed baking, crocheting, painting and just about any crafty project she could get her hands on. Lynn left behind her loving husband David Hawkes (Denver, CO.), her children: Theresa Baker (Tom) (Elm Creek, NE.), Timothy Hawkes (Sacramento, CA.), Catherine Richardson (John) (Denver, CO.), 16 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members! Lynn was preceded in death by her Mother Gladys Heath (1996) and daughter Kristie Hawkes (2009). Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Visitation on Friday March 10, 2017 6PM – 7PM at Horan & McConaty 9998 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 at 10AM at the same location. followed by a Pot Luck gathering at the Hawkesnest starting at 1PM (7861 Grant St. Denver, CO 80229).
