Leslie Anne McKenzie

Leslie Anne McKenzie (nee Gauvin) was born August 24, 1955 and died November 11, 2017. Leslie married Geoff McKenzie on November 18, 1984. They have two daughters, Kaitlin McKenzie and Meghan (Colin) Smith. Leslie is survived by her husband, her daughters, her mother, Barbara Gauvin, her three sisters and brother. A graduate of Bear Creek High School, the University of Northern Colorado, and Metropolitan State College, she began her career as a speech pathologist and later became a teacher in a special education classroom. She had an innate ability to know what each child needed to learn and grow. As a result, she was loved by all her children, their parents and her co-workers. Les loved her family, her dogs, camping, traveling and, most of all, her garden. She read voraciously and was a strong supporter of the public library. Les loved to host her family and friends to celebrate the holidays and for Broncos games. A wide variety of appetizers were always served, and an enormous quantity of food provided.
