Leslie D. Shehorn, 74, of Arvada passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Collier Hospice Center, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Born on June 27, 1945 in Trinidad, Colorado, he was the son of Chas and Lavina (Buzzo) Shehorn. Leslie married Josephine M. (Pohl) on August 16, 1969 and together they shared 50 plus years of marriage together.
Leslie worked as a Civil Engineer Tech with the USBR (Denver Federal Center). He also worked for the Colorado Rockies as an Usher in the VIP Suites.
He enjoyed All Sports but mostly the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing Little League, since his grown children were no longer playing, which he coached several years for the Hidden Lake Little League. When Les was working for the USBR he played on the softball team. Les and Jo were in a bowling league for several years. They were also members of the Arvada Performing Arts Center for many years, which he enjoyed very much.
Les was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 25th Infantry Division and was a Purple Heart and Oak Leaf recipient. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America.
In addition to his wife (Jo) Josephine, he is survived by his children: daughter Denise M. (Shehorn) Roblyer and son Kevin D. Shehorn, special daughter, Angie Kogovzek, grandchildren: granddaughter Brittany J. (Shehorn) O'Connor (spouse Derick J. O'Connor), grandson Brenden D. Roblyer, grandson Tyler J. Shehorn and granddaughter Caitlynn R. Shehorn, and great-grandchildren: Liam W. O'Connor, Noah J. O'Connor, Aniah J. Roblyer, Teona D Roblyer and Emma L. O'Connor and Brother Theford Shehorn and Nephew John Shehorn.
He is preceded in death by his father Chas, mother Lavina and infant brother baby Shehorn.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 11th, 2019 at 11:00am at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave. Arvada, CO 80003, followed by interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery with Full Military Honors at 1:15pm, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80235.
