Leslie Lynn Smith, an unceasing light of love and joy, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida after a courageous and difficult battle with a prolonged illness.
Leslie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend. She gave everything of herself to her greatest joy, her family. No task was too small, no sacrifice too great if it meant helping those she held dear.
Beyond her role as the family cornerstone Leslie loved to garden and entertain. She was a fabulous chef, and she found joy in bringing those she loved into her home. No one ever left her home hungry, lonely or bored. Leslie was creative, in addition to being a talented interior designer she could do so many different things, like trim tall trees, lay brick sidewalks and hang wallpaper, all by herself.
Born and raised in Colorado, Leslie always loved her home. Leslie and Steve lived in a beautiful home that she completely redesigned in Clearwater, Florida. Living on the beach was her dream come true. It was here where she could hold her beloved pet Boji, watch the ocean and escape the cold.
Although Leslie struggled with significant medical issues for the last several years, she never lost her optimism or her loving spirit. She cherished her life with her beloved husband and best friend, Steve. Yet, she left us far too soon.
Leslie is survived by her loving husband, Steve, her children Donnie and his wife, Melissa, Zach and his wife, Ana, Serina and her husband, Nik, her grandchildren, Trent, Ashley, Ella, Camryn, Lauren and Raelyn, her brother Alex and his wife, Tanya, Steve’s parents Ron and Jan and Steve’s sisters, Cathy and her husband, Gary, and Cherie and her partner, Chris, in addition to her many cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends who all loved and adored her and will miss her greatly.
She was predeceased by her father, Bob, her mother, Maryland and her beloved aunts and uncles, Margie, Beulah, Ella, Don, Jerry and Harvey.
We will all miss her unfailing love and kindness, and we will always remember her with deep love.
A memorial service will be held April 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, Colorado, 80227. A reception will follow at her and Steve’s home, 7910 W. Baker Ave., Lakewood.
In lieu of flowers her family requests donations to one of her favorite charities, Wounded Warriors or Tunnels to Towers.
