Lila Loeckle

May 19, 1928 — October 5, 2020

Englewood, CO

Lila Mae Loeckle was born May 19th, 1928 in Alta Vista Kansas. She was the seventh child born into a family of nine children, including two sisters and six brothers by her mother, Katie Hobbs Hermann and father Carl Hermann. She is survived by her older sister Margaret and younger brother Walter, both of which are currently living in Wichita, Kansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lila graduated from high school in Junction City, Kansas in 1944 at the age of 16. Shortly after graduating she went to work full time as an accounting assistant in the oil industry, which led to a lifetime occupation lasting until her retirement as a senior accounting executive with Amoco Oil Company in 1988. As a proud member of “The Greatest Generation”, Lila endured both the Great Depression, as well as World War ll.  These events helped mold her into the amazing person that she would become.  In 1946, the love of her life returned home from the war, and on December 13, 1946 she married Warren G. Loeckle. This was a marriage that lasted over 73 years.  If ever God has joined two people together as one, it was Warren and Lila.  In 1957, Warren and Lila moved to Denver, Colorado, and began a life filled with hard work, but tempered with their lust for life.  They enjoyed ballroom dancing, socializing with their many friends, entertaining in their home, and a good party anytime, whether it was theirs or someone else’s.  All they did, they did with class, dignity, humility and joy.  Lila Mae Loeckle was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of her friends and loved ones.  She is reunited with Warren now.  Together they are at peace in the arms of their savior. This gives us all reason to rejoice.
