Lillian Dora (Buri) Bauch died early Monday morning, May 16, 2016 peacefully in her sleep from Alzheimer's. Lillian was born in Darlington, Wisconsin on October 7, 1930. Daughter of Ernest and Hulda Buri, and sister to Rudy Buri, all deceased. Lillian was widowed in 2011 after 58 years of marriage to George John Bauch. She is survived by three children; Georgine, James, and Kevin; six grandchildren: Jaylee, Nicole, Alison, Brenna, Charles, and Bobby; and one great-grandchild, Marie Claire. Lillian had a remarkable balance of family and career, and broke through many social and professional ""glass ceilings"". Her career encompassed business ownership during the 60's, 70's, and 80's, with seven full-service ""Mane Image"" beauty salons. She was also director of Avon Beauty Salons for five years with offices in Denver, Atlanta, New York, and Dallas. After selling her salons and ""retiring"" from the cosmetology industry, she pursued a life-long passion to be a flight attendant. At the age of 65, she was hired on as a charter employee with Western Pacific Airlines, and flew with them for four years. To highlight her accomplishment, she was invited to be on the Today Show in New York City. Of course, she and George obliged! Not yet done with pushing boundaries, she substituted for many national Broadway touring musical and theatrical productions doing wigs. She worked with numerous companies, including ""Hello Dolly"", ""Phantom of the Opera"", ""Cats"", ""42nd Street"", ""Forever Patsy"", and ""Forbidden Broadway"". She put the cap on her career accomplishments by becoming a CNA, a career which unfortunately was cut short due to the onset of Alzheimer's. A four-time cancer survivor, Lillian had a passion for life. She welcomed challenge and embraced diversity. She was very compassion-ate, with a healthy sense of self. She was loved and respected by all who knew her, and she will be missed. The happiness of her family and friends were always her priorities. Lillian was an exceptional role model. We love you, Lillian! A funeral service was held Saturday, June 4, 2016, 11:00am at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7531 S Kendall Blvd, Littleton, CO 80128.
