Lillian Rose (Lopez) Weaver was born in Denver to William Lopez and Alice (Dominguez) Lopez on February 15, 1938. She attended Saint Cajetans Catholic School and Annunciation Catholic High School where she graduated in 1956. While in school her sister Mary Delores (Doe Doe) Introduced her to Joseph Weaver. Lillian and Joe married on November 7, 1959 at Annunciation Catholic Church and moved into a basement apartment on North Hudson Street. Children soon followed with Lawrence (Buddy) in October 1960 and RaeAnn April 1962. The growing family moved to West Denver near Ninth and Wolf and was joined by Steven in October 1963 and Kathy in November 1964. Joe and Lil found the location in Lakewood where they would build their dream home, while building the home Mark arrived in October 1971. About a year later they moved into the family home on South Dudley Street. Lillian a talented pianist who could play by ear and who also loved to dance; her love of music was instilled in her children and grandchildren. The kids took tap dance lessons at the original Elitch Gardens and Steve and Kathy took additional dance lessons. Her grandchildren remember being taught to dance to splish-splash and the klunk-klunk of the washer and dryer while spending time with Grandma. Lillian was an excellent cook making homemade taffy, empanadas, tortillas and of course green chile and much more. Lillian truly enjoyed being outdoors and together with Joe the joy of the outdoors was shared with their five children with multiple camping trips, ski trips and boating outings to Grand Lake, Steamboat Springs and Lake Powell among many others. Lillian worked for Jefferson County schools as a crossing guard at Patterson Elementary School where she walked to and from work everyday rain or shine. The money she earned here and the small change she hid from Joe allowed her some spending money for garage sales, moonlight madness sales and Bible tapes. Lillian passed away at home on Sunday May 17, 2015 under the care of her family with sincere appreciation to her niece Sandy Winowiecki, RaeAnn Carlson and Dana Martin as her personal caregivers. She is survived by Joe her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Buddy Weaver of Lakewood, RaeAnn (Mike) Carlson of Morrison, Steven (Bobbi) Weaver of Lakewood, Kathy (Lenny) Reinhard of Golden, Mark Weaver of Lakewood, her sister Marie Moody of Dallas Texas, her brother Raymond Lopez of Lakewood CO numerous grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015, 7:00pm, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Lillian's honor on Thursday, May 21, 2015, 1:00pm, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3801 W. Ohio Ave, Denver, CO 80219. Committal service will be held following Mass at 3:00pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area A, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80235.
