Linda Moana Starr Colucci

Linda Moana Starr Colucci was born on June 2, 1960 on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Oahu. Moana is the Hawaiian word for ocean. As befitting, her ashes will be sprinkled over the ocean near Honolulu. Her father's career with the Forest Service took the family to Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and Nebraska. The family settled in Denver in 1976. Linda's parents, Bill and Esther Starr, are Colorado natives. Linda is the second born of 5 girls; her sisters are Carol, Nancy, Lisa and Julie. Linda graduated from Lakewood High School in 1978, near the top of her class. She continued her studies at Colorado State University and Metro State College, graduating in 1982 with a B.S. degree in Information Systems. Linda married Steve Colucci in 1984. They were blessed with three children; Karli, Kasey and Kinsey, and five grandsons; Dillon, Jaden, Tyler, Kason, and Jaxon. Linda's family was the center of her universe, and she was a very active and loving mother and grandmother. Linda recently retired from Kaiser Permanente's IT department after 36 years. Linda was an extraordinarily unselfish and giving woman. She was constantly doing things for others, and was extremely loyal to her friends and family. Being very creative, artistic and meticulous, she was often called upon to organize and document family and work events. Linda loved to scrapbook. Linda's grandmother collected pink quartz stones, and from one of the stones Linda created gorgeous bonding necklaces for her family members. We are proudly displaying those necklaces today. Our beloved Linda passed away on February 20th after a brief, but exceedingly courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by up to twenty loving family members throughout her battle. The void her absence has left in the lives of her family and friends is colossal. She will always be with us in spirit. She will always be LOVED, and will always be our SHINING STARR.
