Linda Jean Wallin Easterly

Linda Jean Wallin was born December 26, 1947 in Watertown, Minnesota. She was the second daughter born to Leroy ""Wally"" and Betty McPherson Wallin. In 1954, the family moved west to Hardin, Montana. Linda attended school in Hardin and graduated from Montana State University in Elementary Education, where she was a member of Delta Gamma and Angel Flight. She met her future husband Robert Phillip Easterly there and they married in 1969, shortly before Linda's graduation. They moved to New Jersey where he was in the Navy and she taught school. Coming to Denver in 1970 she attended the University of Denver briefly and resumed her teaching career in 1986 with the Littleton Public Schools, retiring in 1998. She was a devoted mother to two daughters, a beloved third-grade teacher, and supportive friend to many – including the women from her Bible Study of 35 years. Linda cherished relationships more than anything. She loved God first and then family. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She spelled shopping with a capital ""S."" She didn't care much for health food, cleaning the house, or long car rides. Linda's earthly heroes included her dad, Ronald Reagan, and Barbara Bush. She is survived by her husband Robert, daughters Sara Wallin Easterly and Amy Carol Reed, grandchildren Evan Philip Reed, Violet Grace Alpen, Olive Eleanor Alpen, and Garrett Malcolm Reed, mother Betty Wallin and sister Carol Degnan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Granddaughter Kenna Wallin Reed predeceased her. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 4pm – 8pm at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 12, 10:00 AM at Grace Chapel, 8505 S. Valley Highway, Englewood, CO 80112. Interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
