Linda C. Gillespie

September 9, 1946 — December 27, 2009

Linda passed away suddenly Sunday morning December 27, 2009 as she began her day with her beloved husband of 38 years, James. With unwavering love and devotion she raised son Erik and cared for her family. She poured her love and concern into countless others, including Erik's fiancée Yvonne, her grandchildren; Charlotte, Erik Jr. (EJ), Gabriel, Elijah, Hannah, her great-grandchildren Brooklyn, 'Little' Jimmy and Bella, her step-children Wendy and Christopher Gillespie, foster children Alana, Sedrick, Bridget and others. She was born in Fairbury Nebraska September 9, 1946 to Joy Kenneth and Lillis Light. She is survived by her mother Lillis and her husband Jack Grimsley, her brothers David and Lyle Light, sister-in-laws Kris and Kay and her niece and nephews Kelly, Casey, Nathan and Cameron. Linda touched the lives of so many others. She would literally give of herself to anyone she saw in need. She worked at Children's Hospital in Denver for 42 years as a medical technologist. She opened her heart and home as a foster parent for over 20 years. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and hundreds of others that have witnessed and benefited from her loving, kind and compassionate spirit. She has truly made this world a better place. She loved the Lord and we thank him for blessing us with her life for 63 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Denver Children's Home, 1501 Albion St., Denver, CO 80220-1028 Please share your memories of Linda and condolences for her family by clicking the ""Sign Guestbook"" tab below.
