Linda Kay (Schmid) Heyd, 81, passed away March 10, 2021 in Greenwood Village, CO, with her family by her side. Linda was born in Ponca City, OK on May 10, 1939 to Eugene and Ruth (Anderson) Schmid. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1957 and attended Northern Oklahoma College. She worked in the Engineering Department at Conoco, Inc. She married Jerry Heyd in 1969 and was the dedicated mother of three children – Brett, Kristi, and Andrew. Her devotion to family was unwavering. The family moved several times with Conoco and she always created a loving, beautiful home in each new location. Linda was creative, full of life, always fun to be around, and ready to pursue the next adventure. She was the best “Meme” to her grandsons, Josh and Jake, and loved them with all her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Heyd of Greenwood Village, CO; her children, Brett Taylor of Greenwood Village, CO, Kristi Pawley (Bruce) of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Andrew Heyd of Longmont, CO; her grandsons, Joshua Pawley (Keara) of Fort Collins, CO and Jacob Pawley of Denver, CO; and her brother, Allen Schmid of Clinton, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Bryan Schmid and Judith (Schmid) Rhoads.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Heyd residence.
