Linda Lee Jurgemeyer

March 29, 1942 — July 13, 2015

Linda Jurgemeyer, 73, of Littleton, CO passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Jefferson County School District, where she taught for several decades. The daughter of Mary (Maxwell) and Lloyd Moline was born on March 29, 1942, in Manhattan, Kansas. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees from Kansas State. Linda's love of teaching touched and shaped thousands of lives over a span of more than 40 years. Most recently, she taught at Shaffer Elementary, in Littleton, CO. Previously in her career, she taught at schools in Oklahoma and Kansas. She was a devoted and loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was a voracious reader, world traveler, avid golfer, lover of card games, trying new recipes, Denver Broncos fan, Colorado Rockies fan, supporter of all things K-State, and enjoyed most of all, spending time with her circle of friends and her four grandchildren. Linda is survived by her son Mark Jurgemeyer of Denver, CO, her daughter Mindy Nies and her son-in-law Zach Nies of Arvada, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan and Kaitlyn Jurgemeyer, Brody and Brandon Nies and sisters Ruth Moline of Livonia, MI and Beryl Moore of Mint Hill, NC. She is preceded in death by her daughter Kirsten and sister, Mary Ann Hammond (Assaria, KS). Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 11:00am, at the Gypsum United Methodist Church, at 6th & King, Gypsum, KS and she will be buried at the Gypsum Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Linda's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
