Linda Kissel, 64, Beloved Wife, Cherished Mother, and Adoring Grandmother, entered into her Eternal Rest with Christ on February 15, 2023. Linda was born on August 5th, 1958 to Alvin and Dorothy Haack in Effingham, IL. She graduated from Effingham High School in 1976.
On June 1st, 1985, Linda married her soul mate and the love of her life, Mark Kissel, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Effingham, IL. Together, they lovingly welcomed four beautiful daughters into the world. Linda held various jobs throughout her life, but her true passion and career was to be a loving wife, a caring mother and warm hearted grandmother.
Linda's world revolved around her family, faith, and friends. She was a devout member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Evergreen, CO. She was the former coordinator of the Evergreen Shelter Program, provided food to the Fr. Woody's Lunch Sack Program, and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a Dame in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and a member of the Horseless Carriage Club of Colorado.
Linda will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her love for her family could be seen in every aspect of her life. She had an infinite capacity to love and forgive and was a friend and loved by everyone who met her. She will always be remembered for her giving nature and caring heart. She was a mother to all, especially many of her daughter's friends. She created the most warm and welcoming home and loved sharing it with others.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mark Kissel, daughters: Christina (Joe) Waite, Kimberly (Kenneth) Kasper, Amanda (Steven) Montabone, and Nicole (Dylan) Stern; grandchildren: Ella Waite, Mason (Hogan) Waite, Wyatt Kasper, Jameson Stern and Jace Kasper; brother-in-law Bob Brinkopf and her sister Nancy (Tom) Marrs. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet Brinkopf, and infant brother.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 24,2023, 4pm-7pm followed immediately by Recitation of the Rosary. Both to be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd.. Lakewood. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 25,2023, 10:30am, Christ the King Catholic Church, 4291 Evergreen Parkway Access Road, Evergreen. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
