Mrs. Linda M. (Byrne) Renner, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at Collier Hospice Center on Friday, May 31st, 2024.
Linda was born November 21, 1931 in County Mayo, Ireland to John Byrne and Josephine (O'Dwyer) Byrne.
Her first love was the piano for which she received a Master's degree from the London College of Music (FLCM: RQF). In 1951, at the age of 19, she immigrated to the United States. Linda's love of travel led her to pursue her dream of becoming a flight attendant, where she flew with Continental Airlines and Pan American Airways (Pan Am). She became a naturalized citizen in 1958.
On December 28, 1960, in Denver Colorado, she wed Dr. Gerald Renner D.D.S, with whom she raised two children, Lesley and Ryan.
Linda was known as a wonderful conversationalist, a great listener, and generous with her time. She made deep friendships with a diverse group of individuals while pursuing her passions for traveling, interior design, music, fashion, real estate and hosting friends and family.
Linda attended Metropolitan State College, graduating Magna Cum Laude at the age of 59 with a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Meeting and Travel Administration with an emphasis in Travel. She worked several years in the travel industry for Thomas Cook and Andavo Travel, focusing on corporate travel, and later assisted her friends with their travel plans after her retirement. Needless to say she loved life and the people in her life.
She is survived by her children Lesley (Reggie), and Ryan (Stacey), granddaughters Rowan and Sloane, and brother Louis Byrne (Olive). Linda will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery Friday, July 12th, 2024, at 12:30 P.M. Area A, with a reception to follow at Pinehurst Country Club.
Please consider making donations in Linda's memory to the Metropolitan State University of Denver's School of Hospitality Annual Scholarship fund.
