Linda Kay Tollensdorf

October 4, 1955 — July 25, 2011

Linda passed away unexpectedly in her home in Denver; she was 55. The family was notified of her death on Monday, July 25th.

She was born October 4, 1955, in Hoxie, Kansas to Alvin Raymond and Helen Marie Meitl Kruse.

A dedicated mother, gifted artist and active volunteer. Linda valued her role as mother to her two children. She made a great impact on them by serving as a constant role model of responsible behavior, practical home management, and caring, honest treatment of others.

She had a great love for art; she studied it, she created it, and she admired it. She showed her support of art by volunteering at both the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art.

She was also very serious about being an advocate for people with mental illnesses. She was actively involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness. She was passionate about spreading a message of compassion and understanding about people who suffer from mental illnesses.

Linda is loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jeffrey William Tollensdorf; two children, Jamie Lee Tollensdorf (28), Brian James Tollensdorf (25); mother, Helen; siblings, Jane, Dale, Mike, Jim, Mary and Julie. Preceded in death by her father, Alvin.

A memorial service for Linda will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2:00pm, at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122.
