Linda W. Vigor, daughter of Lester and Helen Weimann, died at age 83 from an aggressive abdominal cancer. Upon graduation from Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in chemistry in 1962, she married William Vigor just before he entered medical school. Remarkably, their marriage endured for 62 years. They lived in the Denver area ever since internship in 1966.
Linda was extremely conscientious, forming lasting friendships with almost everyone she met. Her work in the house and yard were exemplary. In addition, she was very concerned about the environment and firmly believed in reducing, reusing and recycling. Linda was a volunteer librarian for the last 35 years, mostly with the Denver Public Library, and was a voracious reader. In addition, she and her husband volunteered at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts for the past 20 years. Similarly, she enjoyed the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Opera Colorado ever since moving to Denver. During that same time she and her husband were well-known for being avid bicycle riders, riding all over the metro area, and taking many biking vacations. In later years she also walked frequently and still enjoyed being active physically. She was an excellent seamstress, knitting blankets for both grandsons and all of her grandnieces and nephews.
Linda is survived by her husband Dr. William Vigor, her daughter Laura Woodard and son Craig Vigor, as well as son-in-law Matt Link and grandson Linus Woodard, and daughter-in-law Sher King and grandson Theron Vigor. Linda, you lived a most honorable life. Be at peace.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, 11am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood.
