Linsey Leigh Kuykendall, 37, of Denver, Colorado died in July 2018 after a long illness. Linsey was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1981, and was adopted by her loving parents, Sharon E. and Laverne R. Kuykendall, at 5 months and brought to live with them and her new sister in Maryland. Linsey attended East High School in West Chester, PA and the University of Pittsburgh. In 2005 she moved to Colorado to be near her parents. Settling in Denver, she met Charles Harrison (Chad) who became her best friend and partner for the rest of her life. In 2010 she moved to Paris with Chad and her beloved dog Simon, learned French, and traveled extensively. Linsey worked for several Denver law firms, including McGeady Becher a prominent special district boutique law firm, which she rejoined when she returned from France, and continued with until her death.
Linsey was a beautiful woman in every sense of the word, and so humble she would have protested nearly every word in this obituary. She could be shy in a crowd, but once the conversation began her personality and curious nature could lead to an unforgettable conversation with a complete stranger. Her sense of humor was witty and ironic, she rarely refused the opportunity for a spontaneous adventure, and it was unusual to hear her complain out loud about anything. Linsey's encyclopedic knowledge of the history and song catalogs of both The Clash and Queen constantly amazed, and her partner always maintained that she was the bravest human being he had ever met. She was quick to condemn something she judged to be unfair, and just as fast to apologize when she erred. To those who knew her, Linsey's untimely passing has left a deep and sudden void of laughter, wit and warm companionship. She will be missed desperately for she was well and truly loved.
Linsey was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon, and her grandparents. She is survived by her father Laverne in Monument, Colorado, sister Kimberly Kuykendall in Alexandria, VA, the great loves of her life, Chad and Simon, and a group of friends and family forever touched by knowing her. A memorial service will be held on 23 July 2018, 3:30 PM, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 915 E 9th Ave, Denver, CO. The family requests any memorial gifts be sent to Dillonadopt.com, the company that was instrumental in Linsey's journey to Sharon and Laverne, and who continues to help families.
Please share your memories of Linsey and condolences with her family in the Guesbook.
