Lisa Emon Cheryl Heagney

January 24, 1976 — November 2, 2024

Aurora

Our beloved Lisa Emon Cheryl Heagney, 48, left this earth and into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on November 2, 2024, in Aurora Colorado. Lisa was born on January 24, 1976, to Lorraine Shaw and the late Danny D. Heagney in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Lisa graduated from Sheridan High School in 1995 and went on to earn her Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice/Fitness from Sheridan College and Chadron State. She was also the Vice President of Chi Omega PI. Lisa later became a licensed Real Estate Agent and licensed Mortgage Broker for the State of Colorado.

Growing up, you could find Lisa surrounded by all her friends and family. She enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball and always looked forward to being on the go. Whether that was walking her dog, taking a quick trip to the mountains or to the beach. You could catch her outside admiring the flowers, trying new things or even inventing some kind of healthy garden creation. Lisa cherished making memories and made sure to capture each moment in a picture or video for all to see.

Success was her motto, and she always rose to the top. Lisa pursued and attended classes to accomplish her many ambitions. Defeat was never an option, and nothing was unachievable. Lisa lived life to the fullest and had zero limitations. To know Lisa, was to love Lisa. She was every bit of spunk, orneriness and adventure. Our air headed Lu-Lu had the ability to make everyone laugh and people were naturally drawn to her no matter where she was or who she was with. She was a true go-getter and didn’t stop embodying positivity and grit amid adversities. With her strong headedness, she stood for justice and liked to get everyone riled up in the process.

Lisa never married, but has one amazing son, Dylan Heagney (Age 20). Dylan was her everything, her life revolved around him. She strived daily to provide for him no matter what. They traveled around the world together and hosted daily, weekly, and monthly gatherings in their backyard. The 4th of July was their favorite holiday, lighting up the neighborhood, literally! There was never a dull moment with the dynamic duo and where there was Lisa, there was Dylan. Lisa also adored her animals, Clinger and Dante. They were Lisa’s cats growing up and into her adult years. It was funny, because Lisa was a cat person. She never wanted to be a dog person and didn’t understand how anyone could be. But Dylan never stopped asking for a dog, and when she finally agreed, they got Ranger. That opened a part of her heart to let someone love her. Then came Duma. She adored him and they were inseparable.

Lisa loved her family and friends. Lisa was a true multitasker, with her busy lifestyle, but regularly made time to make a quick phone call to her family or plan an extravagant vacation with friends. She loved to entertain and was the life of the party. Her heart was so big and so kind that she would give anything to those in need. She loved and mothered all of Dylan’s friends, spoiling them as if they were her own. She was known to take anyone into her home, and later in life adopted her daughter, Kahiau Bentosino (KK). She thought the world of her. Lisa said in a post, “Thanks for letting me be your momma.” Lisa had an instant connection with her adopted dad Tom. Tom took her in as his own daughter.

Lisa is survived by her son Dylan, mother Lorraine Shaw, adopted mother Jean Holwell, adopted father Thomas Daniel, brother Danny Heagney and ex-sister-in-law Deni Heagney, sister Nikki Holwell (Aaron), niece Kavee Smith (Timmy) great nephew Rowan, nephew Skyler Holwell (Jessica) great niece Chesney, brother Ryan Shaw (Diane) nephew Jack, Dylan’s father Kyle Kiger (Silke) sister Emme, Silke’s children, Grandpa Phil Kiger (Connie), Grandma Sherry, Aunt Anna Fivecoat (Adam) nephew Ander, Aunt Darby Major and children Blaine and Garrett. She is preceded in death by her father Danny D. Heagney, Grandma Ella N. McVay, Grandma Margaret Sonsteng, adopted father Kenneth Holwell, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lisa is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her legacy will continue on because of the everlasting impact she had on others throughout her life. We are so blessed to have had you as our beautiful daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
