Lisa Marie Kelley, aged 47, died in her home on August 7, 2023. Born the daughter of James Patrick Kelley and Lynda Sue Peterman, Lisa hailed from Southern California, and was an avid soccer and softball player in her youth. Her skills in softball led to a scholarship to the University of Michigan, where she played for 3 years. She remained a loyal Michigan sports fan for the rest of her life. After obtaining degrees in geology and anthropology from Michigan, and New Mexico State Universities, she was employed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Department, as an archaeologist for over a decade. She also gave back to the sport she loved by being a Coach, and helping young girls obtain scholarships to higher education institutions. Lisa and her husband moved to Colorado in the winter of 2016. She continued to coach, and learn, and love until her death. She is survived by her husband Patrick Kenneth Culp, her sister Michelle Bartholomew, and 3 nieces. Lisa’s dedication to the mutual support and respect that comes with being a member of a team, will be remembered as one of her greatest passions. In a world that pulls people away from their past in pursuit of their own adventure, Lisa was always active in keeping her tribe in contact. She was an advocate for mental health, women’s sports, and the ability of love to conquer all things negative. She will be missed by many.
