Lisa B. Smart, of Denver, passed away peacefully August 24 after a long, rare illness. Formerly of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, she was born in Wisconsin and raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Survived by her loving partner, Karen Hill, mother Patricia Smart (Chicago), sister Debbie Smart (Linda Forey) and pre-deceased by brother Bill and father William. Also survived by aunt, Pat Maack Ormsbee, cousins Steve Maack (CA), Shari Maack (NV), Karen Maack (ID) and In-laws Holly and Charles Mory (FL), Janet Cushing (CT), Elena and Douglas Hill (CA), George 'Sandy' Hill (MA), David Dyche (CA) and Gail Powers (pre-deceased). Nieces and nephews Patrick and Jennifer Cushing (CT), Natayla Hill (GA), Bryan Hill (CA) and beloved dog, Olivia. An accomplished tennis player at an early age, Lisa competed regionally and nationally and was inducted into the Buffalo Grove High School Athletic Hall of Fame. She was a graduate and member of the women's tennis team and Chi Omega sorority at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Upon graduation, Lisa was employed in the Chicago area with FedEx for 19 years serving in various management positions. She transitioned to the financial industry serving as a Financial Advisor fro VALIC for seven years. Lisa enjoyed cycling, riding her Vespa scooter, walking her dogs, attending concerts, festivals and volunteering in her community. She was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks fan and over the moon about Trader Joe's. Lisa will be remembered for her ""Smartie"" smile, compassion for others and zest for life. Memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday, Sept. 6th at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO. A Chicago service will be held in late September.
