Lloyd & LaVonne Baer

Lloyd Irwin Baer and LaVonne Joyce (Keeney) Baer both passed away December 24, 2019 in a car accident in Lakewood, Colorado each at the age of 93.

Lloyd, born April 16, 1926 in Berkeley California, the son of Theodore Joseph Baer and Margaret Rosemond (Irwin) Baer. After studying at BYU he joined the Army in 1946, honorably discharged in 1949. Lloyd then started working for National Cash Register (NCR) until he retired in 1970

LaVonne, born July 24, 1926 in Maquoketa, Iowa the daughter of Orville Keeney and Bernice (Schultz) Keeney. LaVonne was a dedicated member of the Lutheran church since her youth. She loved being a mother to her two sons and was a homemaker during their childhood years. After her divorce, she worked for Western Farm Bureau until she retired.

Lloyd and LaVonne married January 15, 1988. They had many common interests like traveling in an RV and doing missionary work, blessing the lives of many people. They enjoyed sporting events, no matter if they were attending them or watching them on TV, as long as they were together. Lloyd was an amazing handyman and always looked for ways to help others. LaVonne was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making quilts.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife Jackie Baer, his son Keith Alan Baer, daughter Jeannie LaVonne Porter (Paige), three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his brother Wayne Irwin (Anne) Baer, daughter in-law Vickie Baer, grandchildren Heather Andrews, Russell (Kelcie) Baer, Jeffery (Cara) Baer, Nicholas Baer, Candice Baer, Bridgett (Justin) Echard, and 15 great grandchildren.

LaVonne is survived by her sons John (Alice) Adams, and David (Marla) Adams, grandchildren Nathaniel Currey, Joshua (Midian) Adams, Angela (Chris) Miller, and Erica Bumgardner, and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be held in their honor at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday January 7th, 2020 at Christ the King Lutheran Church 2300 S. Patton Ct. Denver, CO 80219 followed by a luncheon at the church. Inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO. 80236 at 1:15 P.M.
