Lloyd, 87, passed away April 13, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Mary A. Miller, married for 63 years; father of Carol (Jim) Engelman, John (Maryann) Miller, Barbara (Robert) Dedecker, and Joseph (Naomi Miriam) Miller; grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 8 with one more expected. Also survived by his brother John Ernest Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Miller. Lloyd served in the US Navy Armed Guard during WWII, was involved with the Normandy Invasion on D-Day, which just happens to be his birthday, was on the USS Laffey at the battle of Okinawa, which was attacked by no less than 22 kamikazi's, actually hit 9 times and bombed 3 times. After the war, he joined the US Army and served in Korea, just after that war as a medic, did two tours of Vietnam, also as a medic, and parachuted into the Dominican Republic for the skirmish there. He retired with 29 1/2 years of military service and worked at various jobs until he officially retired. Especially loved by young children and animals of all kinds, and was well liked by most everyone who knew him.
