Lloyd Harold Richmond

March 29, 1934 — December 6, 2013

Lloyd Richmond passed away on December 6, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harold and Ruth Richmond (both deceased). He was raised in Salt Lake City, UT; El Paso, TX; Denver, CO; and Phoenix, AZ. As a young man he served a mission in Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and soon afterward he graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in Finance. Lloyd married Julie Roberts in the Salt Lake Temple and together they have five children. He worked until retirement for Mountain Bell, AT&T, and US West. He and Julie also served missions in Lima, Peru; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and the British Isles. They also served as officers of the Denver LDS Temple. Lloyd is survived by his wife Julie and five children: Rick (Linda) of La Canada, CA; Shauna Stephens (Taylor) of Highlands Ranch, CO; Ron (Vicki) of Mt. Pleasant, UT; Ray (Alicia) of La Jolla, CA; and Shelley Stolk (Tom) of Highlands Ranch, CO; along with 22 grandchildren; one sister, Kaye Ellis (Gary) of Salt Lake City, UT; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson. Lloyd will be remembered for his example, his devotion, his love of his family, his sense of humor, and his love for and continued interest in athletics, especially tennis, handball, and racquetball, and in more recent years, water skiing and cycling. Two viewings will be held: on Friday December 13th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Horan McConaty at 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd. and on Saturday December 14th from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building at 6705 South Webster, Littleton. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the second viewing. Please share memories of Lloyd and condolences with his family by signing the online guestbook below.
