Lloyd ""Lou"" Roland Wilson, a lifelong resident of Denver, passed away July 25, 2011. He served in active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War era for two years. After receiving his BA from Univ. of Denver in 1960, he embarked on a career in education. In 1961 he married his beloved wife, Sandra Sparks Wilson, of Ardmore, Oklahoma. The celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 30th. In addition to teaching, he also enjoyed coaching sports. He coached the Littleton High soccer team from 1962 to 1970. He also taught at Sandberg and Centennial Elementary schools. Lou and Sandra share a friendship with their fellow teachers who dub themselves the ""39 and Holding Club"". Lou carried that enduring youthful spirit into retirement, staying active with volunteer work, and learning the harmonica. Lou was passionate about tennis, soccer, hockey, fishing, cycling, and family, and most especially about his dear wife, Sandra. He is survived by many nephews and nieces.
