Lois Rivera

Lois Ann (Dunkin) Rivera, 63, of Easley, SC passed away Saturday April 17, 2021 at Easley Baptist Hospital after contracting COVID.

Lois was born in Denver, CO on September 14,1957 and grew up in Loveland, CO where she lived the majority of her life.

After graduating from Loveland High School in 1975, Lois became a medical office assistant. Lois found peace in the great outdoors and spent a great deal of time enjoying the Rocky Mountains. In 1997 she moved to Easley, SC where she worked at a pharmaceutical company for over 20 years. In March 2020, Lois was laid off from her job and spent the remainder of her days guiding her autistic granddaughter, Celeste, through pandemic remote learning.

Being a loving and caring person, Lois cared for, supported and provided an education for Celeste. She was the type of person to take others under her wing. Over the years she provided mentorship, guidance, and emotional support to so many. Even in difficult situations she never turned anyone away. One of Lois’s greatest gifts was to make sure others knew that they were important and loved.

Lois is survived by her husband; three children: David, Debi (Lee), and Liz (Peter); four granddaughters: Samantha, Celeste, Emily and Meredith; and her sister, Noreen, niece, Laura (Kevin), and nephew (Josh). Lois also had extended family members, those who would always be thought of as family, and friends who thought the world of her. Lois was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby (Evans) Dunkin.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, 10am at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229.
