Loral Mae Kauffman

Loral Mae (Clark) Kauffman, 84, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on September 30, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth O. Kauffman; her sons Mark Kauffman, daughter-in-law Patricia Kauffman, Daniel (Sharon) Kauffman, her daughter Peggy Kauffman Moss, and son-in-law Thomas Moss. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Maggie, Andrea, Andrew, Eric, Oliver, Spencer and Harrison and three great grandchildren, Lucy, Sawyer and Bentley. She was the fourth of six children to David and Margaret Clark. She was predeceased by her brothers Delbert and Lawrence Clark and sister Betty Penny. Surviving brothers include Ross Clark and Edward Clark. Loral Mae was born in Onaga, Kansas on February 9, 1928. She was educated in a one-room school house and went on to prepare as a registered nurse, a career she practiced and loved for all of her life. An active life filled her days. She water and cross country skied, bowled, danced, played bridge and golfed, often in the company of her husband, Kenny. Golf was much a part of her life, two of her homes sat on golf courses. She was always competitive and enjoyed it all. In her retirement years, Loral wrote an autobiographical book about her family entitled, Reflections of Loral. She was encouraging to her children and grandchildren, supporting them in their pursuits. As a wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed. A Funeral Service will be held at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 South Datura Street, Littleton, Colorado 80120 on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Loral's name to the National Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
