Loren Jaynelle Harris, 18, of Parker, Colorado, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, left this life suddenly on June 29, 2022, from injuries sustained in a devastating car accident.
Loren's Indian name is "Iyoyanpa wicahpi win", meaning 'Bright Star Woman'
Loren was born on June 3, 2004, in Denver, Colorado. She is Native American, Navajo and Lakota Rosebud Sioux. Loren was proud of her indigenous heritage and was always sharing her knowledge and teaching her family and friends of her culture.
In early childhood, Loren was a rebellious little girl. She always tested her limits and the limits of others, but with love. While growing up, Loren fell in love with volleyball. She played with many local volleyball clubs and played with the Legend High School Volleyball team, forging many friendships along the way. She was a social butterfly, and a friend to many. Loren wasn’t one to judge people, she embraced them, which made her peers admire her even more.
Family was always important to Loren and meant everything to her. She loved babysitting her younger cousins and most of all, her niece, Esri.
Loren graduated from Legend High school on May 20, 2022. She had a very bright future ahead of her, as she had decided to join the United States Navy. She was expected to leave for naval training on July 7, 2022.
Loren believed and gave herself to the Lord. Her religion helped her persevere through many tribulations. She found herself through worship and attended Crossroads Community Church. She is now home with the Lord, and we know he has other plans for her.
Loren is survived by her loving family: parents, Regina and Wokova Begaye; siblings, Tanya Henderson, William Henderson, and Kendrix Begaye; grandmother, Lorena Harris; uncle, Theo Harris; niece, Esri Gorman; and brother-in-law, Eljin Gorman.
A service for Loren will be held at 10:00am on Saturday July 9, 2022 at Crossroads Community Church, 9900 S. Twenty Mile Road, Parker, Colorado 80134.
Burial will immediatly following the service at the Bear Canon Cemetery, 435 Co-105, Sedalia, Colorado 80135.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on the adjoining Tribute wall. Thank you.
