Lorene ""Teenie"" Holston

Lorene (Gladys) DuMond Holston, also known by the nickname ""Teenie"", 87 of Denver was born in Trenton, NE on December 4, 1925 to Walter DuMond and Nona Jackson DuMond, and passed away February 23, 2013 in Denver, CO. As a child, she lived in Trenton, NE and Studgard, AK. She graduated from Trenton High School and was married to Clayton Holston who passed away in August 1977. After leaving Trenton, Lorene lived in several places, Marysville, KS, Grand Island, NE, Fremont NE to Kansas City, MO where she resided until 1997, moving to Denver, CO. She worked in Health Administration, Real Estate, Apartment Management and in Women's Fashion. Also served on the Kansas City Jazz Society and several presidential political committees and as a grade school classroom grandmother. She was always up-to-date with current affairs and an avid reader and lived her life as a Christian. She was a Denver Bronco and Denver Nuggets fan and watched all of their games. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren, participating in their events and was always a loving mother to her children. She is survived by her children, Grant Holston of Mesa, AZ, Valerie Gilchrist and her husband Maceo of Denver, CO and Greg Holston of Lafayette, CO. She is also survived by her brother Curtis DuMond, Las Vegas, NV, her grandchildren Jennifer DeMeritt, Christopher Hooper, Christina ""Tina"" Holston and Lewis Holston, her great grandchildren Devon DeMeritt, Nicole DeMeritt and Camilla Hooper, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Services will be held at Unity Church on the Avenue at 4670 East 17th Avenue Parkway, Denver, CO 80220 at 2pm on Friday, March 8, 2013. Reception to follow at the church.
