Loretta Ann Blodgett, age 88, passed peacefully at the Lakeview Independent Living Residence on April 20, 2021 of gastrointestinal complications.
Born in North Denver on January 18, 1933 to Recco and Mary Berardi, she lived in Colorado her entire life. Loretta graduated from Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1953 and worked as a registered nurse for Saint Joseph Hospital and Gates Medical Clinic until her retirement. Loretta remained involved with the Gates retirement groups and was an active member of the Catholic church.
Loretta married Jim Blodgett on February 24, 1957. They had five children Cindy, Tim, John, Pat and Dan. She was preceded in death by husband James and children Cindy, Tim and John. Survivors include: children Pat and wife Yukiyo, and Dan and wife Janet; four grandsons, Joseph, Derrick and wife Chelsea, Justin and wife Jessica, and Isaiah; and four great grandchildren, Thea, Benjamin, Asher and Link.
Rosary will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (3101 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO) on Wednesday, April 28 at 6pm. Due to COVID restrictions, social distancing and masks are required.
The funeral service will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Parish on Thursday, April 29 at 11am (2190 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver) followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral service is limited to 75 households so we encourage viewing the service via livestream https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUHnzfUj28I . Service attendees must observe social distancing and wear masks.
