Lorna A. Walters

Walters, Lorna A. June 4, 1940 - August 6, 2016 Lorna, 76, was born in Colorado Springs. She was raised on the Binford Farm and Ranch South of Castle Rock, Colorado. Lorna graduated with honors from both Castle Rock High School (1958) and from Colorado State University (1962). She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and several honor socieities. She married David L. Walters and traveled the world with him for over 27 years as an Army Wife. She loved every minute of her Army life. Lorna also had a very successful career of her own with the Social Security Administration, culminating as the District Manager for the Washington D.C. Branch. After retiring, she joined the West Springfield Rotary Club, where she chaired the club's College Scholarship Program. She is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, David L. Walters; two sons, Lee Walters and Mark Walters; and her grandson, Andrew. A Memorial Service will be held in Lorna's honor on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:30AM at the Horan & McConaty Heartlight Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80014. A time of continued fellowship and light refreshment will take place following the services at the same location. Please share memories with the family below.
