Lorraine Norma Blenker

LORRAINE BLENKER 86 was born in Stevens Point, WI to John and Frances (Gershewski) Wurzinger. Lorraine grew up with her two brothers Richard Wurzinger and James (Diane) Wurzinger. After graduation from PJ Jacobs High School Lorraine worked in Milwaukee, WI with her friend Ann (Howard) Orn. She met Lawrence Otto Blenker and fell in love while traveling home from Milwaukee on the Greyhound bus for Christmas vacation. She married her beloved husband Lawrence in February 1950. Lorraine was a loving Mother to three children. In 1969 the family moved to Denver Colorado. Lorraine became an elementary school cook for the Adams County School District 50 at Sunset Ridge in Thornton CO. She retired after 20 years of food service to care for her husband. Lorraine is preceded in death by her two brothers, her husband, Lawrence and her son Gerald Lee Blenker, a Vietnam veteran. (Fort Logan Cemetery T1 779). Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Denny) Hickman, and her son Kenneth (Christine Keathley) Blenker. She has four grandchildren; Benjaman, Matthew, Ryan (Jodie Braithwaite) Blenker, and Michelle (Kristian) Nylund. Lorraine has four great grandchildren. Natalie Marie Blenker, Kiley Renee, Hailey Noelle Nylund and Preston Douglas Blenker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn CO 80233-3041. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel Thursday, Dec 19th at 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd in Lakewood CO 80227. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 20th at 5:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel. Cremation to follow and Internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery Section 44, Grave 927 with her husband.
