Lowell Thomas Olson

Lowell (Tom) Olson, 83-years-old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 at St. Anthony North Hospital. Tom was born on June 23rd, 1935 to Lowell and Georgine Olson in Salina, Kansas.

Tom graduated in 1953 from Saint Joseph Military Academy in Hays, Kansas. He attended Fort Hays State College and joined the United States Army. Soon after, he met and married Catherine Ann Pfeifer of Hays, Kansas. They had four children; Sonja, Ingrid, Erik, and Kalle. They were married 61 years.

Tom was employed at 3M for 32 years as a corporate trainer and retired at the age of 58.

Some of his hobbies included being a private single engine aircraft pilot and flying ultralights, instructor for CERT, HAM radio certified, a National Weather Service observer, notary for the state of Colorado, and judge for the Colorado Aviation Air Show.

Tom was a loving husband, father to 4, and Papa Tom to 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild whom he loved and cherished dearly.

Preceded by death of Lowell and Georgine Olson (parents), Emili Ann Olson (sister), Kalle Thomas Olson (son), and other family members.

Living family, Catherine Olson (wife), and children Sonja (Curtiss) Carr, Ingrid (Darwin) Kouns, and Erik (Kristi) Olson; grandchildren JamieLynn Cooner, JessicaLee Moman, Jason Gorski, Curtiss Carr, Ashley Crosh, Darwin Kouns Jr., Kristina Schaeffer, Michael Schaeffer, Ally Kouns, Blake Olson, and Evan Olson; great grandchildren Ashleigh LeClaire, Taylor Shelite, Paige Shelite, Charlie Gorski, Hudson Moman, Bentleigh Schaeffer, Camden Crosh, and Amelia Crosh; and a great-great grandchild Skyler LeClaire.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 9th at 6PM, immediately followed by a 7PM Rosary at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 9998 Grant Street, Thornton 80229. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10th at 10AM at St. Mark Catholic Church 3141 W 96th Ave, Westminster, 80031.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Tom will be laid to rest at Loveland Memorial Park.
