Lt. Col. Gerold L. ""Gerry"" Gentry (Ret. USAF) 78, born in La Junta, Colorado. Moved to Colorado Springs, CO in the 4th grade and graduated from Colorado Springs H.S. in 1952. Attended Denver University for 2 years. Spent 2 years in the Air Force and returned to attend Colorado State University, graduating in 1961. He was commissioned in the Air Force and retired at the rank of Lt. Col. He met Nancy at CSU and they were married in 1961. They celebrated 51 years of marriage this year. They moved back to Denver from Texas in 1970 where he taught at Englewood High School. He taught accounting, law and aerospace and retired after a 20 year career of teaching. While he was teaching he developed an educational web site â National Education Telecommunication Network â NETN â and continued to develop and maintain the website after retirement. (www.netn.net) Gerry attained his private pilot license at the age of 16 and owned several airplanes over the years. His joy was taking all of his aerospace students for a flight. He has been active in the Gleneagles Homeowners Association and served as president of the board for 5 years. Gerry has enjoyed learning to play the organ and keyboard with a wonderful group of friends and has spent many hours at the instruments. He enjoyed playing racquetball, handball, skiing, and fishing in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Survived by his wife, Nancy, his sister, Rosella, brother, Earl, and brother-in-law, Nick Demos. Also, many loving nieces and nephews and cousins. Proceeded in death by his sister Dorothy, brother Edwin and sister Cleobelle. An Internment will be held at 9:00am on Thursday, November 15, 2012, Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Pavilion 'A' 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church, 1401 East Dry Creek Road in Centennial, 80122. Memorial contributions may be made in Gerry's name to The Denver Teacher's Club, 900 Glencoe Street, Denver, Colorado 80220 or to the Denver Dumb Friends League, 2080 South Quebec Street, Denver, Colorado 80231 or to a charity of your choosing.
