Luanna Illing

In Memory - Luanna Illing Employee Luanna Illing passed away on Saturday following a long illness. Luanna began her career at Ball Aerospace in August of 1981. Most recently she served as Sr. Manager of Business Development for Systems Engineering Solutions. Colleagues and customers remember Luanna for several characteristics. The first was her tremendous dedication to the company, its customers and her coworkers. She regularly worked well in excess of the 40-hour work week. Her passion for the company's technologies and how they could be applied to the needs of the customer motivated this dedication. During her career at Ball she supported all of the company's business areas - even if she was officially assigned to represent only one. Known for her collaborative nature, she would listen to the needs of customers and bring them together with Ball personnel from across the company. Luanna was also well-known for the care that she took of her customers and coworkers. She always took a little more care than most do and put her own ""Luanna touch"" on things. She as was known throughout the defense, homeland security and intelligence communities for her home-made cookies that she regularly brought to customers. These gestures were among the many ways that Luanna let people know that she cared about them. She had a tremendous external network - people gravitated to Luanna for her professional credentials and her warmth as a person. She was also well-known for her signature style. She loved to dress up and was rarely - if ever - seen in anything other than a dress and high heels. It was another indicator of the care that Luanna took in all that she did. Luanna is survived by her husband, Rainer Illing and her four sons. Recitation of the Rosary will be Wednesday, May 4th at 7pm and the Memorial Mass will be Thursday, May 5th at 11am with a reception to follow; both services will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church located at 900 West Midway Boulevard in Broomfield. Committal at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
