It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucas ”Luke” James Bowar, age 23, on December 9, 2024.
He was a graduate of the STEM High School in Highlands Ranch. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in computer science at the Colorado School of Mines and was pursuing a Master of Science in Quantitative Finance at the University of Denver.
Luke was an empathetic young man who always looked out for others. He was a musician, playing jazz with his brothers and leading the drumline in the Mines Marching Band. He loved children and animals, especially our dogs Roxy & Miles. Food and working out were two other passions--often at odds with each other. His best friends were his brothers. If you asked him, he would say he is the funniest, tallest, most fashionable, handsome, athletic, and humble of the Bowar boys.
He is survived by his parents Ann & Joe Bowar, his brothers Jake (25), Matthew (21), and Timothy (19), his maternal grandparents James and Marie Bebesi, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral mass will be at 11 am on Saturday, December 21st at Pax Christi Church, 10675 Jaguar Drive, Lone Tree, CO. All are welcome.
We will have an open house, luncheon and celebration of life from 12:30 – 4:30 pm at the Shaffer Room at the Ken Caryl Ranch House, 7676 S Continental Divide Road, Littleton, CO.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship is being created in Luke’s memory by the Colorado School of Mines Marching Band. Please donate via:
