Was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Chet and Naomi Passmore on April 12, 1933 and entered into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 9, 2022.
She is survived by her brother, Barry Chester Passmore, Jr.( Sandy) of Asheville, NC, as well as her four children, Boyd Jr. (Wendy) Centennial, CO, Dr. Glen Fenton of St. Louis, MO, James Randolf (Randy) Fenton (Emie), Hermosa Beach, CA and Gail Lucile Fenton Reimer (Brandon) Redwood City, CA, and her grandchildren, Chloe and Cole Reimer and Skye and Summer Fenton. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Boyd A. Fenton, Sr.
Lucile attended Drexel University, where she met Boyd, the love of her life and the man she would marry. They married in November, 1955 and moved to the sunny skies of Colorado in 1965, after several military bases and a stint in Philadelphia.
Lucile bred and raised toy Poodles. She loved animals and wildlife of all kinds and was known to feed strays of any variety on her back step. She intuitively knew how to care for them.
She worked as the Office Manager at The Colorado Knitting Mills which made sweaters and hats for Colorado’s ski resorts through the 60’s and 70’s, which she and Boyd Sr. owned together.
In 1970, she began working for the US Government doing Census Surveys for various government agencies. At one time, she was the top producing field representative. Back then, Lucile would visit people in their homes, at all hours of the day and night, to collect important census data. Lucile was known to take fresh garden produce (from Boyd’s garden!) as a lure to get people to talk with her about her surveys. And it worked!
Lucile’s top priority was always her family. Whether it was bringing orange slices to Randy’s soccer games or encouraging each of us to pursue a musical instrument. Randy played saxophone (she and Randy bought his saxophone together), Glen played guitar, and Boyd played the piano. Lucile was Boyd’s first piano teacher just as Lucile’s mother was a piano teacher. And Lucile was a huge champion of Glen and Gails’ high-school acting.
She was a lifelong bridge player (playing three and four times a week) and was very competitive at any game she played. She liked to win!
Boyd and Lucile loved to entertain. For many years, they held an annual Valentine’s Day party that had the house filled with red hearts of all kinds, even a large heart at the front door you walked through to enter.
Lucile always took great pride in her appearance. She always looked her best for friends and family. And she was never without her bright red lipstick!
Lucile and Boyd loved to travel, covering all the continents and seas, except for Antarctica where it was far too cold! Some of their favorite trips were Safari in Africa and cruising down the Nile. They loved weeks on the beach in Mexico with friends and family, and, of course, cross-country family trips in the family sedan!
Lucile loved her family deeply. She had a degree in Home Economics. She loved to cook and try new recipes for her family. As her children surrounded her in her last days, she insisted they take breaks to eat and drink. She was determined to take care of them till the end. She was feisty as ever bossing them around, making sure they knew what to do when she was gone.
At the time Lucile passed from this earth, she sat up, with eyes as wide as saucers, she had a glow about her, and was looking past everyone in the room. We know at that moment, she was reunited with her husband and in the arms of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ!
