Lucille ""Lucy"" Rach

Lucille Rach (Lucy), 86, passed away November 28, 2016. She was born in Wadena, MN to Lena and Ben Dovenmuehler on February 8, 1930. Lucille married Reinhardt (Bud) Rach on September 21, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wadena, where she was also baptized and confirmed. Lucy was a resident of Wadena for most of her 86 years. She moved to Colorado in August of 2016 to be near her Colorado family. As the loving wife of a farmer, Lucille assisted in managing the farm, was key in raising her children, and also worked outside the home in various capacities at local businesses. She retired from Green Thumb, where she was responsible for payroll administration. Lucy was an avid reader, enthusiastic Minnesota Twins fan, embroidered, and loved to play cards and games. Her grandchildren will always remember her lessons on how to ""sneak"" cookies and ""peek"" at cards. Lucy was a wonderful woman who loved her family and encouraged them to work hard and follow their dreams. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Lucille is survived by: daughters Rhonda Westcott (John) and Geri Santos-Rach, both of Colorado, and sons Dick Rach of Ely, MN and Daland (Gail) of Glencoe, MN; grandchildren Kelly, Danny, Catie, Ben, Michelle, Chris and David; great-granddaughter Keona; brothers Carl (Sonny) and Earl Dovenmuehler; and beloved niece and ""third-daughter"" Joanne Ostlund (Kenny). She is preceded in death by husband Bud, daughter-in-law Susie Rach (Dick), and brothers Arnie and Bernard (Bud) Dovenmuehler. A Celebration of Life is planned 11:00AM, July 1, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Wadena, MN.
